Florida State University Significantly Increases Endowed Fund Donor Engagement
After two years of using ODDER, FSU has implemented substantial changes to how they distribute endowment and annual reports. With their transition to a digital 'Report on Giving' in 2020, they benchmarked a 61.4% open rate and a 43.4% click-through rate for endowment report donors. However, using ODDER's built-in metrics dashboard, they also realized that only 19% of recipients viewed any or all report pages.
Using this data, they streamlined both the endowment report and the annual report in FY21. They edited down the report by:

Hyperlinking resources and removing the scholarship report and all introduction letters (yes, even from the President)

Changing professorship thank you letters to be a standalone piece sent in spring

Utilizing donor stories from throughout the year vs new ones

Putting the financials first

Cutting the video length in half
The results? A 10% YOY increase in the open rate for endowed fund donors, a 2.9% increase in the click-through rate, and the number of donors who viewed part or all of their endowment report went up by 15%. And because of a trimmed-down end product, they were able to save time and resources!
