How Miami Used Video to Update Students,
Alumni, and Donors in Spring 2020
Connecting people doesn’t require spotlights or drone shots.
The Miami RedHawks development team knew in April 2020 it was time to reach out and update alumni and donors about Miami University’s sporting events. No communication had gone out since all events had been cancelled.
Coaches from each sport recorded a quick video to share how the team was doing, what the plans were moving forward, and to offer their thanks for support during the strange and difficult time of COVID-19.
The videos were sent out over the course of a month and by the end of May, the thousands of ThankViews had received an average 61% open rate.
