The ThankView Customer Outcomes team receives a lot of questions about how to get the most out of a ThankView subscription. We want to open up your FAQs and answers to the whole community!

This month we’re addressing:

  1. How can I upload captions for my video?
  2. Where can I upload/update my contacts?
  3. What are best practices when it comes to organizing the video library?

1. How can I upload captions for my video?

We’re excited to announce that you can now upload your own SRT or VTT caption file to your ThankView videos!

There are 2 ways to upload the file.

  1. Directly in a Campaign
  • Set up your campaign as usual
  • After a video is added to your campaign, press the “CC” button on the bottom of left of the video you added.
  • Press “Upload Captions”

2. In the Video Library

  • Go to edit your video in the Video Library
  • Press “Captions”
  • Press “Upload Captions”

If you do not have a caption file to upload, no problem! You can still purchase captioning for your video. For more on that process click here.

2. Where can I upload/update my contacts?

We’ve got another new feature that we are excited to announce…. drumroll…. keep it coming….yes, this is one of those obnoxiously long drumrolls…. you can now mass upload contacts directly into the “Contacts” tab!

This means you can update information quickly and easily . If you’d like to update your contacts to contain a Donor ID or update their giving tier, go to the “Contacts” tab and click “Add Contacts.”

From there, you can either manually add contacts or upload a csv. file with the correct information like “First Name,” “Years Giving” or any other category you’d like to include.

If you’re interested in organizing your contacts with Lists (Lists can looks like “Internal Staff Emails,” All Current Year Donors,” or “Our Favorite Donors”) click this link to learn more.

3. What are best practices when it comes to organizing the video library?

If you’ve been a ThankView partner for a while, your Video Library most likely has a TON of videos. To help keep your Video Library easily searchable, we highly encourage our partners to use the Folders and Tagging options. There are limitless ways to set your up Video Library, but here are a few best practices:

  1. By year: Folders can be sorted by year so you can see everything sent in 2019, 2020 and beyond!
  2. By giving level: You may be sending personalized videos to certain giving level donors, and you can sort those levels through tags.
  3. By your organization’s internal catalog system: It’s possible there is already a video and document logging system at your organization, make sure to check with your team!

Whether you’re categorizing by year, giving level or your own organization system, it’s helpful to include the date the video was made or sent in the title of the video. If it is a personalized video, make sure to include the recipient’s name in the title. If not, it’s helpful to include the campaign title so you can easily find the video you’re looking for at a later date.
